Karlstad Man Charged After Alleged Death Threats<\/h2>\n

KARLSTAD, Minnesota<\/strong> \u2014 (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a> \u2014 A Lake Bronson man faces a felony threats charge in Kittson County.<\/p>\n

Addison Kiil Homstad, 30, is charged with threats of violence. The charge follows an alleged incident on June 10, 2026.<\/p>\n

The case was filed in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District. Court records list the case as 35-CR-26-80.<\/p>\n

Complaint Describes Phone Threat<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, a man identified as T.J.J. was outside the Karlstad Eagles Club.<\/p>\n

He received a Snapchat call from Katelyn Hanson\u2019s account shortly before 10 p.m.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Homstad was allegedly using Hanson\u2019s phone during the call.<\/p>\n

T.J.J. told investigators that Homstad threatened to hunt him down and kill him.<\/p>\n

He said the threat was repeated about three times during the short call.<\/p>\n

T.J.J. reported feeling alarmed and believed the threat could be carried out.<\/p>\n

Hanson told investigators she visited Homstad\u2019s residence that evening to pick up their child.<\/p>\n

She said Homstad became upset after she refused to restart their relationship.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Homstad took her phone and ran down a gravel road.<\/p>\n

Hanson said he later took her vehicle while their child remained inside.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Hanson recorded part of the incident on video.<\/p>\n

Investigators allege Homstad spoke about killing T.J.J. and then killing himself.<\/p>\n

Hanson later found three Snapchat calls to T.J.J. from her account.<\/p>\n

She said the calls happened while Homstad had possession of her phone.<\/p>\n

Homstad denied making the phone call when contacted by investigators on June 11.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Homstad is charged under Minnesota Statute 609.713<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.<\/p>\n

It may also bring a fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n

The complaint contains allegations and does not establish guilt.<\/p>\n

Homstad is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
