Fargo Man on House Arrest Accused in Assault<\/h2>\n

FARGO, N.D.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Fargo man on house arrest faces three charges after an alleged attack at his mother\u2019s apartment.<\/p>\n

Peter Jaden faces two domestic violence counts and one unlawful imprisonment count. The charges stem from an incident reported on June 14.<\/p>\n

Woman Reports Assault at Fargo Business<\/h2>\n

Officers met the woman shortly before 1 a.m. at Fargo Billiards and Gastropub. She said Jaden attacked her hours earlier at Campbell Apartments.<\/p>\n

Police reported a bloody, swollen lower lip and scratches on her neck. The woman said an argument began over another woman.<\/p>\n

She told police Jaden threw her phone into a television. The impact broke the phone and damaged the television.<\/p>\n

The woman said Jaden blocked the exit and kept her inside. She alleged he then hit her face and strangled her.<\/p>\n

She told officers she could not breathe during the attack. She also reported threats if she contacted the police.<\/p>\n

Earlier Police Visit Described<\/h2>\n

Court documents say officers visited the apartment earlier that night for another call. They were not allowed inside the unit.<\/p>\n

After the officers left, Jaden allegedly made the woman wash blood from her face. He then told her to use a back door.<\/p>\n

The woman later ran outside and called a friend. The friend drove her to the gastropub, where she reported the assault.<\/p>\n

She told officers that fear caused her to delay the report. Police returned to the apartment around 1:50 a.m.<\/p>\n

Arrest and Prior Federal Custody<\/h2>\n

Officers arrested Jaden on suspicion of felony domestic assault. He was taken to the Cass County Jail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During transport, Jaden declined to discuss the accusations. The report says he called the case his weakest charge.<\/p>\n

Documents say Jaden reported serving about six years in federal custody. He cited prior racketeering, robbery, conspiracy, and aggravated assault convictions.<\/p>\n
