Roseau Woman Charged In Fatal Highway 11 Crash<\/h2>\n

Roseau County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) – A Roseau woman is facing a felony charge after a deadly crash on Minnesota Highway 11.<\/p>\n

Shauna Rae Dokken, 43, of Roseau, has been charged in Roseau County District Court. She is charged with criminal vehicular homicide. The charge alleges grossly negligent driving.<\/p>\n

The case stems from a two-vehicle crash on May 29, 2026. The crash happened near 440th Avenue. That location is about five miles east of Roseau.<\/p>\n

According to the criminal complaint, a red pickup crossed the center line. It then struck an oncoming vehicle head-on. The other driver died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Dokken was taken to LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau. Court documents say she had slow and slurred speech after the crash. She denied drinking alcohol. A preliminary breath test showed a result of .000.<\/p>\n

Witnesses Reported Erratic Driving<\/h2>\n

Several witnesses described dangerous driving before the crash. One witness said the pickup crossed into oncoming traffic after the S-curves east of Roseau.<\/p>\n

The witness reported calling 911. The witness also tried to follow the pickup for a plate number.<\/p>\n

Another witness said the pickup swerved across the road. The complaint says it crossed fog lines on both sides of the highway.<\/p>\n

Dog Distraction Cited In Complaint<\/h2>\n

Dokken told investigators she was traveling with her dog. She said the dog distracted her near the roadway shoulder.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Dokken later stated the dog grabbed the steering wheel. She said she tried to regain control before the crash.<\/p>\n

Dokken also told investigators she had taken prescription medication that day. The medications listed were Buspar, Lorazepam, and Adderall.<\/p>\n

Court documents say Lorazepam is a Schedule IV controlled substance. Adderall is listed as a Schedule II controlled substance.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n
