Shannon Leroy Sersland, 57, of Euclid, has been charged with second-degree driving while impaired.<\/p>\n
The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a>. It also references Minnesota Statute 169A.25<\/a>.<\/p>\n Court records show the alleged offense happened on June 4, 2026. The case is filed as 60-CR-26-771.<\/p>\n According to the complaint, a Minnesota State Patrol officer was on patrol around 10:49 p.m.<\/p>\n The officer was traveling north on U.S. Highway 75 near Center Street.<\/p>\n The complaint states that a gray 2015 Chevrolet Silverado approached a traffic circle at a slow speed.<\/p>\n The vehicle allegedly crossed the solid white fog line. It then moved back into its lane.<\/p>\n The complaint says the vehicle continued to swerve within its lane. A traffic stop was then made.<\/p>\n Sersland was identified by his Minnesota driver\u2019s license, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n The officer reported signs of possible alcohol use during the stop.<\/p>\n The complaint says Sersland first denied using alcohol or drugs before driving.<\/p>\n He later allegedly said he had two beers. He then allegedly said he had four beers.<\/p>\n Field sobriety tests were conducted. The complaint states Sersland did not complete them in a satisfactory way.<\/p>\n A preliminary breath test allegedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11.<\/p>\n Sersland was then arrested on suspicion of DWI. He was taken to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.<\/p>\n At the jail, a breath test was given at about 12:08 a.m. on June 5.<\/p>\n The complaint says that the test also showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11.<\/p>\n The complaint lists two prior impaired driving convictions as aggravating factors.<\/p>\n Those include a 2018 DWI conviction in Polk County.<\/p>\n It also lists a 2023 driving under the influence conviction in Grand Forks, North Dakota.<\/p>\n Second-degree DWI is a gross misdemeanor in Minnesota.<\/p>\n The listed maximum sentence is 364 days in jail.
