Deer Lake Township (trfnews.i234.me)<\/strong> \u2013 On December 13, 2025, at 10:48 PM, a 2022 GMC Sierra, driven by 42-year-old Brandon Jay Gunderson of Sauk Rapids, MN, veered to the right while traveling southbound on Highway 6 south of Itasca County Road 270 in Deer Lake Township, Itasca County. The vehicle left the roadway, went down a steep embankment, and struck several trees.<\/p>\n

Gunderson, who was not wearing his seat belt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Grand Itasca for treatment. His passenger, 45-year-old Ryan Steven Voigt, also from Sauk Rapids, MN, was wearing his seat belt and was uninjured. It was reported that alcohol was involved in the crash.<\/p>\n

The road conditions were dry at the time of the incident. Itasca County authorities responded to the scene.<\/p>\n
