Blackduck Man Charged After License Stop<\/h2>\n

Blackduck<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Blackduck man is facing a gross misdemeanor traffic charge in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

Jess Michael Supan, 45, of Blackduck, is charged with driving after cancellation. The complaint says his license was canceled as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>. The offense carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail. It also carries a possible $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Alleged In Blackduck<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, the case began on May 28, 2026. A Beltrami County sheriff\u2019s deputy was on patrol in Blackduck around 8:46 p.m.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the deputy saw a gold Jeep Cherokee leaving the Timberline Convenience Store. The vehicle then drove onto Summit Avenue West.<\/p>\n

The deputy recognized the driver as Jess Michael Supan, according to court records. The complaint says the deputy knew Supan\u2019s driver\u2019s license was canceled.<\/p>\n

A check of Supan\u2019s driving status confirmed the cancellation, the complaint says. Court records also say Supan had two outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the deputy later found the Jeep at a driveway near 89 2nd Street SE. Supan was standing outside the vehicle when contact was made.<\/p>\n

Supan was told about the warrants, according to the complaint. He was also told he was not supposed to be driving.<\/p>\n

Supan was then arrested. The complaint says warrants were confirmed from Crow Wing County and St. Louis County.<\/p>\n

Crow Wing County did not request a hold, according to the filing. St. Louis County did request a hold on its warrant.<\/p>\n

The complaint also lists prior convictions in Supan\u2019s Minnesota criminal history. Those include DWI, driving after cancellation, dishonored checks, and controlled substance cases.<\/p>\n
