Hunter Dean Hoff, 28, of Fargo, North Dakota, is charged in Mahnomen County District Court.<\/p>\n
The charges include third-degree sale of a narcotic drug and third-degree possession of a narcotic drug.<\/p>\n
Court documents say the case began around 2:42 a.m. on June 1, 2026.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement was called to Shooting Star Casino<\/a> in Mahnomen.<\/p>\n Casino staff reported that two animated men were refusing to return to their hotel room.<\/p>\n According to the complaint, security staff met law enforcement near the hotel entrance.<\/p>\n Hoff was identified as one of the men involved in the disturbance.<\/p>\n Authorities said Hoff reported he had taken acid.<\/p>\n He later returned to his hotel room to collect his belongings.<\/p>\n The complaint says law enforcement saw syringes, a battery, and a blue band inside the room.<\/p>\n Hoff allegedly told law enforcement the syringes contained LSD and methamphetamine.<\/p>\n Investigators later obtained a search warrant for the hotel room.<\/p>\n During the search, authorities reported finding suspected methamphetamine in backpacks inside the room.<\/p>\n They also found broken glass pipes, a hypodermic needle, marijuana, a scale, and suspected LSD blotter paper.<\/p>\n Court documents say one gray backpack contained 19.16 grams of suspected methamphetamine.<\/p>\n Additional suspected methamphetamine was also found in other items.<\/p>\n In total, investigators reported seizing 22.56 grams of suspected methamphetamine.<\/p>\n They also reported finding about 13 doses of LSD.<\/p>\n The complaint says Hoff admitted the gray backpack belonged to him.<\/p>\n He was then arrested.<\/p>\n A second man, Jesse Aaron Peterson, was also identified during the incident.<\/p>\n The complaint says Peterson was shirtless, sweating, yelling, and acting erratically.<\/p>\n Authorities said he resisted efforts to detain and transport him for medical clearance.<\/p>\n Peterson is described in the complaint as having prior drug convictions.<\/p>\n Hoff faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n He also faces a possible $250,000 fine on each listed felony count.<\/p>\n The charges were filed under Minnesota Statute 152.023<\/a>.<\/p>\n A criminal complaint is not a conviction.<\/p>\n Hoff is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n Case details are listed in Mahnomen County District Court under file number 44-CR-26-313.<\/p>\n More information about Minnesota court records is available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch<\/a>.<\/p>\nDisturbance Leads To Hotel Room Search<\/h2>\n
