Ginny and Earl had many pastimes over the years including raising chinchillas and horses, staying active in the Soo Line Railroad trainmen and auxiliary, doing fundraising for the American Cancer Society, fishing on Lake of the Woods, being caretakers of a large apartment complex in Minneapolis, and spending time during winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ.<br \/>\nGinny is survived by her children: Rosann Froehle of Alma; Wayne Tripp of St. Cloud; Mary (Rod) Bishop of Blaine; and Melissa Odom of Springfield, MO; grandchildren: Jason (Lori) Froehle, Jeremy (Missy) Froehle, Allen (Cassie) Sabo, Kara (Brian) Soper, and Ryan Odom; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Grace, Garrett, Elliot, O\u2019Malley, and McCoy; and sister Beverly Thune.<br \/>\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Earl; parents Nick and Clara Schalz; siblings Virgil Schalz, Veone Knutson, Donovan Schalz, Devon Schalz, and Leon Shalz.<br \/>\nA private burial will take place at Landstad Cemetery in Pennington County on June 16 \u2013 per Ginny\u2019s wishes, no formal services will be held and instead of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or a local food bank.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thief River Falls \u2013 Virginia (Ginny) Janelle Tripp, 95, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Blaine.
