Callaway Man Charged After License Cancellation<\/h2>\n

Callaway<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Mahnomen man is facing a gross misdemeanor charge in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Luke Aaron Irwin is charged with driving after cancellation as being inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

The charge was filed in Becker County District Court, 7th Judicial District. The court file number is 03-CR-26-557.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, the alleged offense happened on March 14, 2026, in Callaway, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Alleged On Highway 59<\/h2>\n

Court documents say a Callaway officer saw a red 2003 Buick Century traveling north on Highway 59.<\/p>\n

The officer believed the driver was Luke Aaron Irwin, based on prior booking photos.<\/p>\n

The complaint states the vehicle later stopped at the Callaway liquor store.<\/p>\n

Authorities say Irwin exited the vehicle after it stopped.<\/p>\n

The officer then made contact with Irwin and identified him as the driver.<\/p>\n

License Status Cited In Complaint<\/h2>\n

The complaint says a records check was completed through the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n

That check allegedly showed Irwin\u2019s driving privileges were canceled.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the cancellation was listed as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

Under Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>, that offense can be charged as a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

Court records also state Irwin had a prior conviction for the same type of offense in 2021.<\/p>\n

The complaint further alleges he has three pending cases in Becker and Otter Tail counties.<\/p>\n

Those pending cases also involve driving after cancellation as being inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

Case Remains Pending<\/h2>\n

Irwin has been charged by summons in the case.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint is not a conviction.<\/p>\n

Irwin is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
