Cass Lake Man Charged In Clearwater Case<\/h2>\n

Clearwater County<\/a> (trfnews.i234.me)<\/strong> \u2014 A Cass Lake man is facing charges after a reported roadside domestic incident in Clearwater County.<\/p>\n

Ephrem Lamar Curry, 26, of Cass Lake, is charged in Clearwater County District Court. The case is filed under court file number 15-CR-26-196.<\/p>\n

The complaint charges Curry with misdemeanor domestic assault. He is also charged with a gross misdemeanor for preventing or hindering an emergency call.<\/p>\n

The alleged incident happened on May 25, 2026, near 14785 340th Street in Clearwater County.<\/p>\n

Roadside Incident Reported<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement was alerted at about 5:11 p.m.<\/p>\n

An officer driving to work came upon a vehicle stopped along the roadside.<\/p>\n

The complaint says a female driver and three children were inside the vehicle. They were described as upset and crying.<\/p>\n

Curry was outside the vehicle when the officer arrived, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The woman, identified in court documents by initials, had what appeared to be scratch marks on her face.<\/p>\n

She denied that anything physical had happened, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Children Reported Assault Claim<\/h2>\n

The complaint says the children spoke with law enforcement at the scene.<\/p>\n

They reported that Curry punched another person in the face, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The children also said the woman tried to call the police during the incident.<\/p>\n

They alleged Curry threw the woman\u2019s phone out the window.<\/p>\n

Court documents also state the children reported a past strangulation claim involving Curry.<\/p>\n

The charges remain allegations. Curry is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

Charges And Possible Penalties<\/h2>\n

The domestic assault charge carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $1,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The emergency call charge carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
