Mahnomen DWI Charge Filed After SUV Call<\/h2>\n

Mahnomen County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Waubun man is facing two gross misdemeanor charges after a reported incident in Mahnomen.<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint filed in Mahnomen County District Court<\/a>, Brandin Quinn English Jr. was charged after an incident on May 24, 2026.<\/p>\n

The complaint says officers responded at about 7:50 p.m. to the Dollar General in Mahnomen.<\/p>\n

The report involved multiple people allegedly passed out inside a white Buick Enclave.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed In Mahnomen County<\/h2>\n

English is charged with second-degree driving while impaired.<\/p>\n

The charge alleges he was under the influence of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n

The complaint cites Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a> and related DWI law.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors also charged English with driving after revocation.<\/p>\n

That charge involves ignition interlock restrictions under Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Court documents say English\u2019s driving privileges were revoked.<\/p>\n

They also say he was restricted to driving vehicles with an ignition interlock device.<\/p>\n

The complaint states the Buick was not equipped with that device.<\/p>\n

Complaint Details Reported Stop<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, English was seated in the driver\u2019s seat when officers arrived.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he placed the vehicle in reverse.<\/p>\n

He allegedly tried to leave the parking lot as officers approached.<\/p>\n

He was ordered to stop and place the vehicle in park.<\/p>\n

Investigators say English did not have a driver\u2019s license or proof of insurance.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he identified himself as \u201cBrendin English.\u201d<\/p>\n

A records check later identified him as Brandin Quinn English Jr.<\/p>\n

Court documents also state he had legally changed his name from Brandin Quinn Deegan.<\/p>\n

Impairment Allegations Listed<\/h2>\n

The complaint alleges officers observed signs of impairment during contact with English.<\/p>\n

Those signs included constricted pupils and slow reaction to light.<\/p>\n

Officers also reported facial tremors and eyelid tremors.<\/p>\n

English agreed to field sobriety testing, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported balance issues and problems following test instructions.<\/p>\n

They also reported swaying and uncontrolled hand movements during testing.<\/p>\n

English was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.<\/p>\n

The complaint says a urine sample was collected after a search warrant was approved.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege English had two prior impaired driving convictions within ten years.<\/p>\n

Those prior cases were listed in Mahnomen County court records.<\/p>\n
