Pursuit Ended After About Seven Miles<\/h2>\n
The complaint says stop sticks were placed near U.S. Highway 2 and Jones Townhall Road. Authorities said the vehicle swerved to avoid them.<\/p>\n
The vehicle then turned south onto Jones Townhall Road. It later pulled into a parking lot and stopped.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the pursuit lasted about seven miles. A female passenger exited the vehicle after it stopped.<\/p>\n
The complaint says Turney appeared erratic during the arrest. Authorities reported he was sweating heavily and had trouble following commands.<\/p>\n
The passenger told authorities she had been with Turney for several hours. She said his behavior was not normal, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
She also said she told Turney to pull over several times during the pursuit. She said the vehicle belonged to her.<\/p>\n

Authorities later obtained a search warrant for a blood or urine sample. The complaint says Turney refused to submit to chemical testing.<\/p>\n

A small camouflage bag was found in the vehicle, according to the complaint. Authorities said it contained a DOC identification card, a BB gun pistol, BBs, a digital scale, and unused micro baggies.<\/p>\n
The first-degree DWI refusal charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison. It also carries a possible $14,000 fine.<\/p>\n
