Bemidji Man Charged In Walmart Burglary Case<\/h2>\n

Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Bemidji man has been charged in Beltrami County District Court after an alleged theft-related incident at Walmart.<\/p>\n

Jonathon Tyler Cloud, 34, is charged with fourth-degree burglary. The charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota law.<\/p>\n

The case was filed in Beltrami County District Court under court file number 04-CR-26-1037.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, the alleged incident happened on March 13, 2026, in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Complaint Alleges Theft Attempt<\/h2>\n

Court documents say police were called to Walmart at about 10:56 p.m.<\/p>\n

The report stated a man was allegedly hiding items inside the store.<\/p>\n

Before police arrived, dispatch said the man had left the store and headed east.<\/p>\n

An officer later found Cloud walking near the back of the store, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Cloud stopped when asked and spoke with the police.<\/p>\n

Cloud allegedly said he knew why police were there.<\/p>\n

He also allegedly said he no longer had store merchandise on him.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, the store had already recovered the item.<\/p>\n

Prior Trespass Notice Cited<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Cloud agreed to return to the store with the police.<\/p>\n

Store staff prepared another trespass notice for him, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Police reported seeing a package of shirts inside the store\u2019s asset protection office.<\/p>\n

Investigators also reviewed store surveillance video.<\/p>\n

The complaint states the video showed Cloud putting the package of shirts into his pants.<\/p>\n

Police were also given a copy of a lifetime trespass notice.<\/p>\n

That notice had reportedly been issued to Cloud in August 2025.<\/p>\n

The charge alleges Cloud entered a public building with the intent to steal.<\/p>\n

It also alleges this happened within one year of being told not to return.<\/p>\n

Possible Penalty<\/h2>\n

Under Minnesota Statute 609.582<\/a>, fourth-degree burglary can carry jail time.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists the maximum sentence as 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also lists a possible $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

Cloud is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
