Lake Park Man Sentenced In Camry Case<\/h2>\n

Lake Park<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Cole William Halverson, 22, of Lake Park, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Halverson was sentenced for misdemeanor obstructing the legal process. The case was resolved through a plea agreement.<\/p>\n

As part of that agreement, three other charges were dismissed. One of those charges was felony theft.<\/p>\n

Case Involved A 1998 Toyota Camry<\/h2>\n

According to court records, the case stemmed from an incident on Jan. 18.<\/p>\n

Records say Halverson took a woman\u2019s 1998 Toyota Camry without permission. He knew he only had permission to use the vehicle if she was with him.<\/p>\n

Authorities also said Halverson\u2019s driver\u2019s license was revoked at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n

The case later moved through Becker County District Court. Court records show the matter ended with a misdemeanor conviction.<\/p>\n

Sentence Includes Time Served<\/h2>\n

On May 6, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony sentenced Halverson to 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n

He received credit for 90 days already served. That means his jail sentence was covered by time already spent in custody.<\/p>\n

Halverson was also ordered to pay a $50 fine. Court fees added another $160.<\/p>\n

The sentence closes the misdemeanor obstruction case in district court. The dismissed charges will not move forward under the plea agreement.<\/p>\n
