Paul Willis Knoell has been charged with 10 counts of possessing pornographic work involving a minor under age 14.<\/p>\n
The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District. Court records list the file number as 54-CR-26-122.<\/p>\n
Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Each count also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n
Cybertip Led To Investigation<\/h2>\n
According to the complaint, the case began after a cybertip was sent through the Internet Crimes Against Children system.<\/p>\n
The tip was tied to files allegedly shared through X, formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n
The report came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline<\/a>.<\/p>\n Investigators said the tip involved an account using the screen name TheBigP2023.<\/p>\n The complaint says subpoena records connected a phone number and internet address to a home near Ada.<\/p>\n Authorities later served a search warrant at that location.<\/p>\n The complaint says Knoell gave investigators his phone during the search.<\/p>\n He also went to the sheriff\u2019s office and gave a statement.<\/p>\n According to the complaint, Knoell said he used several social media platforms.<\/p>\n Those platforms included Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, and X.<\/p>\n The complaint also says Knoell admitted sharing images with a person online.<\/p>\n Investigators said he reported saving images to a computer in his home.<\/p>\n Several electronic items were seized during the investigation.<\/p>\n Those items included phones, a thumb drive, a computer, and an external hard drive.<\/p>\n The complaint says electronic devices were later reviewed by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.<\/p>\n More information about the agency is available through the Minnesota BCA<\/a>.<\/p>\n Investigators reported finding hundreds of files during the review.<\/p>\n The complaint alleges 10 files showed minors under age 14 in sexual abuse material.<\/p>\n Those 10 files are the basis for the 10 felony counts.<\/p>\n The charges are listed under Minnesota Statute 617.247<\/a>.<\/p>\n Knoell has been summoned to answer the charges in Norman County District Court.<\/p>\n A criminal complaint is not a conviction.<\/p>\n Knoell is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n Case information may be available through Minnesota Court Records Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n I’m Chris Harper reporting for TRF News<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ada Man Charged With 10 Child Porn Counts Ada (trfnews.i234.me) \u2014 An Ada man is facing 10 felony charges in Norman County District Court.
