McIntosh<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) – A portion of the former McIntosh School building collapsed Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported after the collapse. Authorities said the area remains unsafe.<\/p>\n

The Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office was dispatched to the scene at about 2:40 p.m. Friday. The McIntosh Fire Department and first responders also responded.<\/p>\n

Area Barricaded After Collapse<\/h2>\n

As of Friday evening, officials said work was still underway to secure the area.<\/p>\n

The building and surrounding property are considered unsafe. The area has been barricaded and is not open to the public.<\/p>\n

Officials are asking residents to stay away from the site. They said people should not enter the property for any reason.<\/p>\n

The Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/a> said barricades are in place for public safety.<\/p>\n

Officials Warn Against Entering Property<\/h2>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office reminded the public that it is unlawful to drive over, through, or around barricades.<\/p>\n

That includes fences or other barriers used during an emergency road closure.<\/p>\n

Anyone found on the former school property without approval may face criminal charges.<\/p>\n

Officials said additional charges may apply if people ignore the barricades.<\/p>\n

Residents can find local information through the City of McIntosh<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The collapse remains under review as crews continue securing the site.<\/p>\n

No other damage or injuries were reported in the initial release.<\/p>\n
