Detroit Lakes<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Detroit Lakes traffic stop has led to gross misdemeanor DWI charges against Christopher Carl Rohman, according to a criminal complaint filed in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Rohman is charged with third-degree driving while impaired. He is also charged with third-degree driving with an alcohol concentration of .08 or more.<\/p>\n

The case was filed in Minnesota\u2019s Seventh Judicial District. Court records list the alleged offense date as May 14, 2026.<\/p>\n

Complaint Alleges Wrong-Side Driving<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, a Becker County deputy was on patrol late May 15 near Washington Avenue and Frazee Street in Detroit Lakes.<\/p>\n

The deputy reported seeing a Jeep Wrangler turn south onto Washington Avenue. The complaint says the Jeep crossed the centerline.<\/p>\n

The vehicle then entered the Willow Street traffic circle. Court records allege it drove onto the center line again.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the Jeep later turned west onto Forest Street. It was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road.<\/p>\n

A traffic stop was then made. The driver was identified as Christopher Carl Rohman.<\/p>\n

Breath Test Alleged At .31<\/h2>\n

The complaint states Rohman smelled strongly of alcohol. It also says his eyes were watery.<\/p>\n

Court records allege he had trouble keeping his balance. His speech was described as slow and slurred.<\/p>\n

Rohman allegedly told the deputy he was going to Zorbaz. When asked how much he had been drinking, he reportedly said it was not enough.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Rohman attempted field sobriety tests. The deputy believed Rohman was impaired.<\/p>\n

A preliminary breath test allegedly showed a result of .304. Rohman was then arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.<\/p>\n

He was taken to the Becker County Jail. Court records say he was read the Minnesota Breath Test Advisory.<\/p>\n

The complaint states Rohman consented to a breath test. That test allegedly showed an alcohol concentration of .31.<\/p>\n

Gross Misdemeanor Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Both charges are gross misdemeanors under Minnesota law. Each count carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The complaint also notes prior DWI convictions from 2003 and 2010.<\/p>\n
