Mahnomen County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Antonia Maria Wadena of Naytahwaush is facing a felony drug charge in Mahnomen County District Court.<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint, Wadena is charged with fifth-degree drug possession. The case was filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District under court file number 44-CR-26-265.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges the incident happened on or about May 2, 2026. Prosecutors claim Wadena possessed a mixture containing fentanyl. Fentanyl is listed as a controlled substance under Minnesota law.<\/p>\n

The charge is listed under Minnesota Statute 152.025<\/a>. The complaint states the offense is a felony. The listed maximum sentence is five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Led To Vehicle Search<\/h2>\n

Court documents state a welfare and traffic complaint led law enforcement to a black Chevrolet Traverse. The vehicle was reportedly traveling from White Earth to Naytahwaush.<\/p>\n

The reporting party claimed Brooke Keezer was driving the vehicle. The complaint says the caller believed Keezer may have been under the influence.<\/p>\n

A sheriff\u2019s deputy later saw the vehicle in Mahnomen County. The vehicle was stopped after officers observed expired registration, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Keezer appeared nervous during the stop. The complaint also states that several passengers were not wearing seat belts. Wadena was listed as one of the passengers.<\/p>\n

K9 Alert Reported<\/h2>\n

A State Patrol K9 was called to the stop. Court documents state the K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Officers then searched the vehicle. During the search, they found a purse in the rear passenger area, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the purse contained a debit card and a Shooting Star Casino name badge. Both items reportedly had Wadena\u2019s name on them.<\/p>\n

Authorities also found a small plastic container inside the purse. The container held a paper bindle, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Inside the bindle, officers reported finding a fine white powder. The substance was suspected to be fentanyl.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Wadena was asked about the alleged fentanyl found in her purse. She reportedly responded, \u201cProbably not,\u201d when asked if she would be surprised.<\/p>\n

At the sheriff\u2019s office, the substance field tested positive for fentanyl. The complaint states the substance and packaging weighed about .4 grams.<\/p>\n

Case Remains Pending<\/h2>\n

Wadena is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. A criminal complaint is not a conviction.<\/p>\n
