East Grand Forks<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A 24-year-old East Grand Forks woman is facing two felony assault charges in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n

Annie Lynn Bros is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. She is also charged with third-degree assault, causing substantial bodily harm.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from a reported incident on May 10, 2026, in East Grand Forks.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed In Polk County<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, Bros is accused of assaulting a woman identified as S.B.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Bros allegedly struck S.B. with a bottle during the incident.<\/p>\n

The second-degree assault charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison. It also carries a possible $14,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The third-degree assault charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. It also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Complaint Details Alleged Assault<\/h2>\n

The complaint states officers were called to an apartment on 17th Street Northwest.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, a child was reportedly yelling for help from a second-floor window.<\/p>\n

Officers also heard a woman screaming inside the building, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Inside the apartment, officers found two adult women covered in blood. Five minor children were also present.<\/p>\n

S.B. had injuries to her head and face, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

She told investigators that Bros was angry about not being invited to lunch.<\/p>\n

S.B. also reported that Bros was intoxicated during the alleged assault.<\/p>\n

The complaint says S.B. reported being hit with a bottle and punched several times.<\/p>\n

She said the assault lasted between 10 and 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

S.B. later received eight staples for head injuries, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Child Witness Cited In Complaint<\/h2>\n

A minor child also gave a statement, according to the court filing.<\/p>\n

The child reported that Bros struck S.B. during a car ride home.<\/p>\n

The child also said Bros punched S.B. and pulled her hair inside the apartment.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the child reported seeing Bros hit S.B. with a bottle.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported that Bros showed signs of intoxication after the incident.<\/p>\n

She was later arrested and taken to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.<\/p>\n
