{"id":28764,"date":"2026-05-14T06:19:29","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T11:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=28764"},"modified":"2026-05-14T06:19:29","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T11:19:29","slug":"henry-wieland-94","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/henry-wieland-94\/","title":{"rendered":"Henry Wieland, 94"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Red Lake Falls \u2013 Henry Wieland, 94, of Red Lake Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Hillcrest Senior Living in Red Lake Falls.<br \/>\nHenry Philip Wieland was born June 24, 1931, at Fisher, the son of Walter and Edna (Wagner) Wieland. He attended country school in Wylie Township, Red Lake County, MN. He farmed with his two brothers, Ken and Alvis and later with his son Todd.<br \/>\nHe enlisted into the National Guard in 1948 and was called into active duty with the Army in December of 1950. He served in the Korean War as a Squad Leader. Henry recalls that when they were in combat in Korea, they would always thank God for protecting them as they crossed the valley called \u201cNo Man\u2019s Land.\u201d<br \/>\nOn November 25, 1961, Henry was united in marriage to the love of his life Marilyn F. Henke.<br \/>\nHenry was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the church Council, Men\u2019s Club and Choir. He served as a director on the Cenex Board and Red Lake County Co-op, director on Red Lake Electric Board and Square Butte Electric Board, served on the Louisville Town Board and then the Wylie Town Board, a member of the American Legion, VFW and Disabled Vets.<br \/>\nHenry enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, hunting, fishing, singing and writing \u201cRoses Are Red\u201d poems. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. Henry was affectionately known as \u201cHank\u201d to many of his friends and family.<br \/>\nHenry is survived by his children: Debra (Jack) Sullivan, Todd (Jennifer) Wieland, Kristi (Jeffrey) Lytle and Casey Jo (Bob) Klipping; grandchildren, Katelyn (Kody) Matthews, Rachel (Colby) Wooten, Sarah, Jordan and Luke Wieland, Wil Walsh, Whitney (Shane) Donner, Haley (Ty) Newton, Elizabeth Lytle, Jaden (Zach) Boutain, Paige (special friend Drew Casavan), and Kylie Klipping; great-grandchildren, Blake and Braylin Donner, Hattie, Henry \u201cHank\u201d and Ivey Newton, Isabella and Baby Wooten and Colt Boutain; stepgrandchildren, Sarah (Anthony) Shumick, Hannah (Mitch) Gosche, Josh (Grace) Lytle, Bekah (Gage) Lange and Leah Lytle; Step great-grandchildren, Conley and Hayden Shumick, June and Rose Gosche and Caroline Lange; brothers, Alvis, Don (Audrey) and Dean; sister-in-law, Linda Henke; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.<br \/>\nHe is preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Lawrence \u201cBlackie\u201d Casavan; brother, and sister-in-law, Ken and Ellen Wieland; sister-in-law, Mae Wieland; and brother-in-law, Clarence \u201cBud\u201d Henke.<br \/>\nVisitation will be from 5\u20137 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls.<br \/>\nA funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, with Reverend Jeffrey Lytle officiating.
