Mahnomen County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Mahnomen woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after a reported parking lot crash.<\/p>\n

Alicia Marie Avila has been charged in Mahnomen County District Court. The case is listed under court file number 44-CR-26-162.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from an alleged incident on September 2, 2025. Court records say the crash happened at Riverland Apartments in Mahnomen County.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed In Mahnomen County<\/h2>\n

Avila is charged with first-degree damage to property. That charge is a felony under Minnesota Statute 609.595<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the damage reduced the value of another person\u2019s property by more than $1,000.<\/p>\n

If convicted, the charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. It also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Avila is also charged with a misdemeanor traffic offense. That charge involves an alleged collision with an unattended vehicle.<\/p>\n

The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 169.09<\/a>. It carries up to 90 days in jail or a $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Complaint Details Alleged Crash<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, Trista White reported damage to her vehicle. The rear passenger door had a large dent.<\/p>\n

White told law enforcement the damage was not there earlier that day.<\/p>\n

Court records say surveillance video later showed a black SUV backing from a parking spot. The SUV allegedly struck White\u2019s vehicle on the passenger side.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the driver then pulled back into the parking spot. The driver allegedly did not exit the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The vehicle then backed out again and left the parking lot, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Investigators later identified the driver as Alicia Marie Avila, court records state.<\/p>\n

Repair Estimate Tops $4,000<\/h2>\n

The complaint says the estimated repair cost is $4,006.81.<\/p>\n

No conviction has been entered in the case. A criminal complaint is only an allegation.<\/p>\n

Avila is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
