Red Lake Falls<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Red Lake Falls man is facing felony drug and traffic charges after a late-night traffic stop.<\/p>\n

Lee Alan Kaml, 58, is charged in Red Lake County District Court.<\/p>\n

The case is filed under Court File No. 63-CR-26-57.<\/p>\n

Kaml is charged with third-degree drug possession in a park zone.<\/p>\n

He is also charged with DWI test refusal and driving after revocation.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop On Broadway Avenue<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the stop happened on April 25, 2026.<\/p>\n

A deputy was on patrol in Red Lake Falls shortly after 10:20 p.m.<\/p>\n

The deputy reported seeing a brown Buick Rendezvous on Broadway Avenue.<\/p>\n

The vehicle allegedly had a loud exhaust and a rear taillight issue.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Kaml was driving the vehicle.<\/p>\n

A passenger was identified as Crystal Kaml.<\/p>\n

Drug Allegation Near Park Zone<\/h2>\n

Court records say Kaml admitted his driver\u2019s license was revoked.<\/p>\n

A records check allegedly confirmed the revocation.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Kaml showed signs of possible impairment.<\/p>\n

Those signs allegedly included poor balance, nervous behavior, and rapid speech.<\/p>\n

Kaml denied using substances, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

He allegedly admitted occasional marijuana use.<\/p>\n

During a vehicle search, deputies found a small green purse.<\/p>\n

The purse was in the backseat area, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Inside, deputies allegedly found a clear bag with a crystal-like substance.<\/p>\n

The complaint says both Lee Alan Kaml and Crystal Kaml denied owning the purse.<\/p>\n

The substance was later tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Its total weight was listed at about 2.2 grams, including packaging.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the stop happened within one city block of a park.<\/p>\n

Search Warrant Refusal Charge<\/h2>\n

Kaml was arrested for DWI and driving after revocation.<\/p>\n

After his arrest, he reported an asthma attack, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Emergency medical workers responded, but Kaml refused treatment.<\/p>\n

A search warrant was later obtained for a blood or urine sample.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Kaml refused to provide a sample.<\/p>\n

Authorities said he was told refusal was a crime.<\/p>\n

The felony drug charge is listed under Minnesota Statute 152.023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The test refusal charge is listed under Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The driving after revocation charge is listed under Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All charges are accusations. Kaml is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
