Holt<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Grand Forks man faces a felony DWI charge after a domestic assault report in Holt.<\/p>\n

The report came in May 1 at about 1:24 p.m. Dispatch was told a man had allegedly assaulted a woman.<\/p>\n

The caller also said the man nearly ran over her daughter while leaving. She reported he had been drinking all day.<\/p>\n

She said he could only drive with a work permit. She also said he was heading toward Thief River Falls on Highway 32.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop In Thief River Falls<\/h2>\n

Tyler Lee Olson, 39, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, has been charged with felony first-degree DWI.<\/p>\n

He was later arrested after being stopped near Main Avenue and Second Street.<\/p>\n

A Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer detained Olson at that location.<\/p>\n

Thief River Falls police then arrived to assist with the stop.<\/p>\n

The complaint said Olson showed signs of impairment. The conservation officer also clocked him at 45 mph in a 30-mph zone.<\/p>\n

Breath Test Allegedly Shows High BAC<\/h2>\n

Olson failed field sobriety tests, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

A preliminary breath test allegedly showed a blood alcohol content of 0.245.<\/p>\n

At the Law Enforcement Center, Olson agreed to another breath test.<\/p>\n

That test allegedly showed a 0.26 blood alcohol content.<\/p>\n

Inside Olson\u2019s vehicle, law enforcement allegedly found two open Crown Royal containers under the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n

An empty Budweiser can was also allegedly found in the back seat.<\/p>\n

Prior Impaired Driving Incidents Listed<\/h2>\n

The complaint said Olson has three qualified prior impaired driving incidents in North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Those included a 2021 felony charge involving criminal vehicular injury.<\/p>\n

The complaint also listed two driving under the influence convictions.<\/p>\n

One conviction was from 2022 for a first offense at 0.16 or greater.<\/p>\n

Another was from 2024 for 0.08 or greater within seven years.<\/p>\n

It was unclear from the complaint whether Olson has been charged with any offenses in Marshall County.<\/p>\n

First-degree DWI is listed under Minnesota Statute 169A.24<\/a>.<\/p>\n
