White Earth<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Dustin Alan Jackson, 32, of rural Waubun, is facing new charges in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Jackson has been charged with felony fifth-degree drugs and misdemeanor DWI, according to court records.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from a traffic stop on April 1 in White Earth village.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop In Snowy Conditions<\/h2>\n

According to court records, a White Earth officer stopped Jackson during snowy and cloudy weather.<\/p>\n

The officer reported that Jackson was driving without headlights or taillights.<\/p>\n

Court records say the officer noticed signs that raised concern during the stop.<\/p>\n

Jackson\u2019s pupils were small for the lighting conditions, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

His speech and body movements were also unusually slow, court records state.<\/p>\n

Jackson told the officer he was only tired, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Field Tests And Arrest<\/h2>\n

Court records say Jackson performed poorly on field sobriety tests.<\/p>\n

He was then placed under arrest.<\/p>\n

During a search, a marijuana pipe was found in Jackson\u2019s pants, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Investigators also searched the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Several used drug items were found inside, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Those items included a glass pipe with residue and hypodermic needles.<\/p>\n

Court records also describe a needle tucked in the driver’s seat area.<\/p>\n

The needle was loaded with liquid, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

That liquid field-tested positive for fentanyl, court records state.<\/p>\n

A search warrant was later obtained.<\/p>\n

A blood draw was then taken from Jackson, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Bail And Court Date<\/h2>\n

Court records state Jackson has a prior fifth-degree drug conviction from 2017.<\/p>\n

On April 17, bail or bond without conditions was set at $40,000.<\/p>\n

Bond with standard conditions was set at $4,000.<\/p>\n

Cash bail with conditions was set at $400.<\/p>\n

Jackson\u2019s next court appearance is set for May 11.<\/p>\n

The hearing is scheduled before District Judge Michelle Lawson.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations at this stage.<\/p>\n

Jackson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
