Beltrami County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Benjamin Michael Fellows, 43, of Hines, is facing two gross misdemeanor DWI charges in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from an April 19, 2026, report on Hines Road Northeast.<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint, deputies were called to a suspicious vehicle in a driveway.<\/p>\n

Rebecca Ann Fellows told dispatch that a white Dodge pickup was parked near her garage.<\/p>\n

She reported that a person appeared to be passed out inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n

She also said Benjamin Michael Fellows drove a similar truck.<\/p>\n

Truck Reportedly Moved Near Residence<\/h2>\n

The complaint says the truck was later moved from the garage area.<\/p>\n

It was then parked closer to the home.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived, they learned Fellows had gone inside the home.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he had locked Rebecca Ann Fellows out.<\/p>\n

Deputies checked the white Dodge truck\u2019s registration.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was registered to Benjamin Michael Fellows, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Complaint Alleges Signs Of Alcohol Use<\/h2>\n

Deputies spoke with Fellows near a door.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Fellows admitted he drove home.<\/p>\n

He also allegedly said he had \u201cway too much\u201d to drink.<\/p>\n

Deputies reported bloodshot and watery eyes.<\/p>\n

They also reported slurred speech and an odor of alcohol.<\/p>\n

Fellows told deputies he had been sleeping.<\/p>\n

He also said he had an eye disease and used medication.<\/p>\n

Breath Test Reported At 0.23<\/h2>\n

Deputies conducted field sobriety testing.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Fellows struggled during the walk-and-turn test.<\/p>\n

Deputies also reported concerns during an eye test.<\/p>\n

A preliminary breath test showed a 0.227 blood alcohol concentration.<\/p>\n

Fellows was arrested and taken to jail.<\/p>\n

After receiving a breath test advisory, he asked to speak with an attorney.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he later agreed to a breath test.<\/p>\n

That test showed a 0.23 alcohol concentration at 4:26 a.m.<\/p>\n

The complaint says there were no prior DWI incidents listed.<\/p>\n
