Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Shane Raymond Roy Sr., 45, of Cass Lake, is facing three charges in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from an April 12, 2026, theft report in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Court records list the case as 04-CR-26-847.<\/p>\n

Roy is charged with felony theft.<\/p>\n

He is also charged with obstructing legal process and motor vehicle tampering.<\/p>\n

The felony theft charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The misdemeanor charges each carry up to 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n

Each also carries a possible $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Theft Report At Auto Parts Store<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, police responded around 10:55 a.m. to O\u2019Reilly Auto Parts.<\/p>\n

The business is located at 501 Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

A victim, identified in court records as H.J., reported a theft from her vehicle.<\/p>\n

She said the theft happened between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.<\/p>\n

The complaint says someone entered her vehicle without permission.<\/p>\n

Reported stolen items included a mint-green purse and a brown and cream wallet.<\/p>\n

The victim also reported her ID, sunglasses, and other purse contents missing.<\/p>\n

She later reported more missing items.<\/p>\n

Those items included three bottles of Mountain Dew and a Power Torque tool kit.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the tool kit had four drawers with various tools.<\/p>\n

Property Found After Removal Call<\/h2>\n

Later that day, police responded to a removal call at private property.<\/p>\n

Roy was found there and appeared intoxicated, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

After Roy left, police reported finding three bottles of Mountain Dew.<\/p>\n

They also reported finding the victim\u2019s mint-green purse.<\/p>\n

The purse contained the victim\u2019s wallet and identification.<\/p>\n

Police later contacted Roy near Bemidji Avenue and Juniper Lane.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Roy refused commands during the encounter.<\/p>\n

Authorities say he continued to resist after being told he was under arrest.<\/p>\n

Roy was eventually handcuffed and secured due to continued noncompliance.<\/p>\n

Tool Kit Not Recovered<\/h2>\n

Roy was taken to the Beltrami County Jail.<\/p>\n

He was booked for motor vehicle tampering, theft of a firearm, and obstruction.<\/p>\n

The complaint says an interview could not be completed due to intoxication.<\/p>\n

The tool kit was not recovered, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Recovered property was photographed and returned to H.J.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations.<\/p>\n

Roy is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
