Thief River Falls<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Robert Fitzgerald Wallace, 62, of Saint Hilaire, is facing a gross misdemeanor charge in Pennington County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charge stems from a February 7, 2026, traffic stop in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

Court records list the case as 57-CR-26-129.<\/p>\n

Wallace is charged with driving after cancellation.<\/p>\n

The complaint says his license status was canceled as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Red Sedan Reported In Pennington County<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, law enforcement first reported seeing Wallace driving a red Dodge Neon sedan.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was listed with the Minnesota license plate WU7711.<\/p>\n

Authorities checked Wallace\u2019s driving status.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the check showed his driving privileges were canceled.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement then watched for the vehicle in the Thief River Falls area.<\/p>\n

At about 10:08 a.m., an officer saw a red sedan matching the earlier report.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was traveling east on 150th Street in Pennington County.<\/p>\n

The officer got closer and identified the driver as Wallace.<\/p>\n

The officer also confirmed the license plate matched the reported vehicle.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Near Pennington Avenue<\/h2>\n

The complaint says emergency lights were activated.<\/p>\n

A traffic stop was then made near Pennington Avenue and 150th Street Northeast.<\/p>\n

During the stop, Wallace was told about his driving status.<\/p>\n

Authorities advised him that he was not supposed to be driving.<\/p>\n

Wallace allegedly said he knew that.<\/p>\n

He also allegedly said he had to get groceries.<\/p>\n

Wallace was placed under arrest after the stop.<\/p>\n

He was taken to the Pennington County Jail.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he was booked and released.<\/p>\n

The charge is an allegation at this stage.<\/p>\n

Wallace is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
