Roseau County, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Menahga teen has been sentenced to 180 days in jail in a child sexual conduct case.<\/p>\n

Colton Johnathon Skare, 19, was sentenced Tuesday, April 28, in Roseau County court.<\/p>\n

Skare pleaded guilty in February to second-degree criminal sexual conduct<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was first charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.<\/p>\n

One charge was later amended to the lesser second-degree offense.<\/p>\n

The second charge was dismissed under a plea agreement.<\/p>\n

Case Involved Two Girls<\/h2>\n

According to a statement of probable cause, Skare was charged with Leeroy Elmer Kicker.<\/p>\n

Kicker was sentenced March 30 to 180 days in jail.<\/p>\n

The two were arrested in June after being found in a room with two girls.<\/p>\n

The girls were ages 13 and 12, according to the court filing.<\/p>\n

Skare admitted to sexual contact with the 12-year-old girl, the statement said.<\/p>\n

He told authorities he thought she was 18, according to the filing.<\/p>\n

Probation And Restrictions Ordered<\/h2>\n

Although Skare pleaded guilty to a felony, the judge granted a stay of imposition.<\/p>\n

That means the conviction may become a misdemeanor if he completes probation.<\/p>\n

Skare was placed on four years of supervised probation.<\/p>\n

His probation terms include a psychosexual evaluation and related recommendations.<\/p>\n

He must also complete a comprehensive assessment, cognitive skill training, and sex offender treatment.<\/p>\n

Individual therapy was also ordered as part of his probation.<\/p>\n

Skare may not contact the victim or her family.<\/p>\n

He also may not have contact with anyone under 18 without approval.<\/p>\n

That approval must come from his probation agent or treatment team.<\/p>\n

Internet And Social Media Limits<\/h2>\n

Skare is also barred from using the internet without approval.<\/p>\n

He may not use social media during probation.<\/p>\n

He also may not possess sexually explicit materials.<\/p>\n

Skare must report to the Roseau County Jail by 5 p.m. May 29.<\/p>\n

He will begin serving his 180-day jail sentence at that time.<\/p>\n

If he qualifies, he may serve the sentence through work release.<\/p>\n

A similar jail program could also be allowed.<\/p>\n
