Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Ponemah woman is facing a felony burglary charge in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

Chantell Marie Roan Eagle, 34, has been charged with third-degree burglary.<\/p>\n

The case was filed in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District. The court file number is 04-CR-26-902.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists an order of detention in the case.<\/p>\n

Reported Theft At Bemidji Walmart<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, police responded on April 20, 2026.<\/p>\n

The call involved a reported theft at Walmart in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

The store is located on Paul Bunyan Drive Northwest.<\/p>\n

Walmart staff told police they saw Roan Eagle switching price tags.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the tags were moved from cheaper items to higher-priced items.<\/p>\n

Staff had not yet approached Roan Eagle when police arrived.<\/p>\n

Police reviewed security footage from the self-checkout area, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Complaint Cites Trespass Order<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Roan Eagle completed her transaction.<\/p>\n

She then tried to leave through the general merchandise doors.<\/p>\n

Asset protection staff stopped her and escorted her to an office.<\/p>\n

Staff provided video that allegedly showed a price tag being removed.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the tag came from a lower-priced bra.<\/p>\n

It was then placed on a more expensive bra, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Dispatch later advised police that Roan Eagle had a lifetime trespass order from Walmart.<\/p>\n

Asset protection staff provided a copy of that trespass notice.<\/p>\n

Roan Eagle allegedly claimed the tag had fallen off.<\/p>\n

She said she simply replaced it, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Roan Eagle is charged under Minnesota Statute 609.582<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The complaint also cites prior qualifying convictions.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint is not a conviction.<\/p>\n

Roan Eagle is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
