Shelly Renae Antell is charged in Mahnomen County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charge is driving after cancellation as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District under court file 44-CR-26-140.<\/p>\n

A summons was issued in the case, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Stop Near Shooting Star Casino<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the incident happened March 15, 2026.<\/p>\n

The traffic stop occurred at about 2:14 a.m. in Mahnomen.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement reported seeing a vehicle leaving the Shooting Star Casino parking lot.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was then followed by law enforcement.<\/p>\n

Emergency lights were activated, and a traffic stop was started.<\/p>\n

The vehicle pulled into the Subway parking lot.<\/p>\n

Driver Identified<\/h2>\n

The driver was the only person in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

She identified herself as Shelly Renae Antell, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

During the contact, Antell allegedly said she did not have a valid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement then conducted a records check.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the check showed Antell\u2019s driving privileges were canceled.<\/p>\n

The cancellation was listed as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

Antell was then told she was under arrest.<\/p>\n

She was taken into custody without incident, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Antell was transported to the Mahnomen County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

She was booked and later released.<\/p>\n

Charge And Possible Penalty<\/h2>\n

Antell is charged under Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

The maximum sentence is 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

The charge also carries a possible $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges Antell knew, or should have known, her license was canceled.<\/p>\n
