Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Mizpah woman is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge after a driving complaint in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Kelly Ann Gunderson, 38, is charged in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District under court file 04-CR-26-829.<\/p>\n

The charge stems from an April 9, 2026, report near Washington Avenue in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Driving Complaint Reported<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, law enforcement responded at about 11:05 p.m.<\/p>\n

The report involved a possible intoxicated driver in a Chevy Equinox.<\/p>\n

The caller alleged Gunderson had crashed into his vehicle earlier that night.<\/p>\n

Authorities later found the Equinox in a Dollar General parking lot.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the vehicle did not have a rear license plate.<\/p>\n

No one was first seen inside the vehicle, but it was running.<\/p>\n

Authorities later made contact with Gunderson in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Complaint Alleges Alcohol Signs<\/h2>\n

Gunderson initially denied being in an accident earlier that night.<\/p>\n

She later said the caller had been driving in front of her.<\/p>\n

While speaking with Gunderson, authorities reported bloodshot eyes.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Gunderson admitted drinking two beers.<\/p>\n

Authorities asked Gunderson to step out of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

When she did, she asked to turn the vehicle off.<\/p>\n

Gunderson was then asked to perform field sobriety testing.<\/p>\n

The complaint says she was unable to complete the tests satisfactorily.<\/p>\n

A preliminary breath test showed an alcohol concentration of .13.<\/p>\n

Breath Test At Jail<\/h2>\n

Gunderson was taken into custody and transported to the Beltrami County Jail.<\/p>\n

At the jail, authorities read the Minnesota Breath Test Advisory.<\/p>\n

Gunderson agreed to submit to a breath test, according to court records.<\/p>\n

The complaint says that test also showed an alcohol concentration of .13.<\/p>\n

Gunderson is charged under Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The complaint also references Minnesota Statute 169A.26<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

It carries up to 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

Case Remains Pending<\/h2>\n

The complaint lists other pending cases and probation matters in Gunderson\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Those include pending assault counts and a prior DWI matter.<\/p>\n

The current charge is only an accusation at this stage.<\/p>\n

Gunderson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
