{"id":26882,"date":"2026-04-26T11:09:51","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T16:09:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=26882"},"modified":"2026-04-26T11:09:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T16:09:51","slug":"bemidji-woman-charged-in-108-gram-fentanyl-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/bemidji-woman-charged-in-108-gram-fentanyl-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Bemidji Woman Charged In 108-Gram Fentanyl Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bemidji<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Bemidji woman is facing a first-degree drug sale charge after a Beltrami County traffic stop.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla Joy Pollock is charged in Beltrami County District Court with first-degree sale of heroin or fentanyl.<\/p>\n<p>The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District under court file 04-CR-26-869.<\/p>\n<p>The charge stems from an April 15, 2026, investigation by the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force.<\/p>\n<h2>Vehicle Tracked During Investigation<\/h2>\n<p>According to the complaint, investigators obtained a court-authorized GPS tracking warrant on April 10.<\/p>\n<p>The warrant involved a blue Hyundai registered to and operated by Pollock.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said the vehicle was frequently used during suspected controlled-substance activity.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says the vehicle left Bemidji on April 15.<\/p>\n<p>It then traveled south toward the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators reported the vehicle made stops in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle also stopped at the Mall of America, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<p>It later returned north toward Bemidji.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center; margin: 25px 0;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 100%; height: auto; display: inline-block;\" src=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/PollockKayla.png\" alt=\"Mugshot of Kayla Joy Pollock\" \/><em>Kayla Joy Pollock<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Traffic Stop Near Highway 71<\/h2>\n<p>As the vehicle approached Beltrami County, authorities coordinated a traffic stop.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says the stop happened on Highway 71 near Horace May.<\/p>\n<p>Pollock was identified as the driver.<\/p>\n<p>Brandon Joseph Roy was seated in the front passenger seat.<\/p>\n<p>Two other passengers were seated in the back, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>A K9 was used during the stop and alerted to a narcotics odor.<\/p>\n<p>A later search found a vacuum-sealed package inside the locked glove compartment.<\/p>\n<p>The package contained about 108 grams of suspected fentanyl, according to court records.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators also reported seizing $2,422 in cash from Roy.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says the key for the locked glove compartment was in Pollock\u2019s possession.<\/p>\n<h2>Suspected Fentanyl Field-Tested<\/h2>\n<p>Pollock later spoke with investigators after her arrest.<\/p>\n<p>She said she and Roy had traveled to the Twin Cities to pick up belongings.<\/p>\n<p>She said they stopped at a sister\u2019s house, the Mall of America, a taco truck, and gas stations.<\/p>\n<p>Pollock said Roy drove south and they switched near St. Cloud on the return trip.<\/p>\n<p>She denied seeing any hand-to-hand exchanges, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators later weighed the suspected fentanyl at about 108 grams.<\/p>\n<p>A TruNarc field test was presumptive positive for fentanyl.<\/p>\n<p>DNA samples were taken from the packaging.<\/p>\n<p>More information on drug investigations is available from the <a href=\"https:\/\/dps.mn.gov\/divisions\/bca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Charge Carries Major Penalty<\/h2>\n<p>Pollock is charged under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/152.021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Statute 152.021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint lists the charge as a felony.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum sentence is 40 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>The charge also carries a possible $1,000,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n<p>The charge is only an accusation at this stage.<\/p>\n<p>Pollock is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n<p>More case information may be available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mncourts.gov\/Access-Case-Records.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Judicial Branch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m Chris Harper reporting for <a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRF News<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) \u2014 A Bemidji woman is facing a first-degree drug sale charge after a Beltrami County traffic stop.
