Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Redby woman is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge after a reckless driving report in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Delaney Rose Strong is charged in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District under court file 04-CR-26-600.<\/p>\n

The charge stems from a February 16, 2026, report near Division Street West and Jefferson Avenue Northwest.<\/p>\n

Reckless Driving Report<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, law enforcement received a report at about 12:26 p.m.<\/p>\n

The caller gave a vehicle description, driver description, and plate number.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the vehicle entered Birchlane and Country Lane Mobile Home Community.<\/p>\n

The caller reported the car became stuck in a snowbank.<\/p>\n

A female driver allegedly exited the driver\u2019s seat and stayed near the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement later found Strong near the stuck vehicle.<\/p>\n

The complaint says she matched the driver description given by the caller.<\/p>\n

Complaint Alleges Signs Of Impairment<\/h2>\n

Authorities reported finding keys on the ground near the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The complaint says those keys were later linked to the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Strong allegedly had slurred, mumbled, and confused speech.<\/p>\n

Authorities also reported smelling alcohol coming from her person.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Strong was crying and not wearing shoes.<\/p>\n

She also allegedly had an unsteady walk near the squad car.<\/p>\n

Strong performed a horizontal gaze nystagmus test.<\/p>\n

She declined the walk-and-turn test, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

A one-leg stand test was not offered due to safety concerns.<\/p>\n

A preliminary breath test allegedly showed a result of 0.216.<\/p>\n

Blood Test Sent To BCA<\/h2>\n

Strong was transported to the Sanford Emergency Room for medical evaluation.<\/p>\n

Authorities obtained a search warrant for a bodily fluid sample.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Strong agreed to provide a blood sample.<\/p>\n

At the hospital, Strong allegedly said she was not driving.<\/p>\n

She also claimed her boyfriend had fled on foot, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The caller later told police the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic.<\/p>\n

The caller also reported that the vehicle drove onto a shoulder.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the vehicle nearly caused a head-on collision.<\/p>\n

Authorities reported finding multiple open alcohol containers in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The blood sample was sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The complaint says testing returned a result of 0.274, plus or minus 0.015.<\/p>\n

Charge Remains Pending<\/h2>\n

Strong is charged under Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The complaint also references Minnesota Statute 169A.26<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The charge carries up to 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The charge is only an accusation.<\/p>\n

Strong is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
