Pennington County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Grygla woman is facing two gross misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop on Minnesota Highway 32.<\/p>\n

Candice Danielle Lewis, 36, is charged in Pennington County District Court.<\/p>\n

The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District under court file 57-CR-26-212.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from a March 19, 2026, stop in Pennington County.<\/p>\n

Highway 32 Traffic Stop<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, a trooper was on patrol along Minnesota Trunk Highway 32.<\/p>\n

The complaint says an oncoming vehicle appeared to be traveling fast.<\/p>\n

Radar showed the vehicle was traveling 70 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.<\/p>\n

A traffic stop was then conducted, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

The driver was identified as Candice Danielle Lewis.<\/p>\n

Lewis provided a temporary driver\u2019s license during the stop.<\/p>\n

Complaint Says Interlock Was Required<\/h2>\n

Authorities checked Lewis\u2019 driving status after the stop.<\/p>\n

The complaint says her driving privileges were revoked.<\/p>\n

It also says Lewis had an ignition interlock requirement.<\/p>\n

When the officer returned to the vehicle, no ignition interlock device was seen.<\/p>\n

Lewis confirmed the vehicle did not have one, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

She was then placed under arrest.<\/p>\n

Lewis is charged with driving without a required ignition interlock device.<\/p>\n

That count is listed under Minnesota Statute 171.09<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She is also charged with driving after revocation involving an ignition interlock violation.<\/p>\n

That count is listed under Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The complaint also references Minnesota\u2019s ignition interlock law under Minnesota Statute 171.306<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Case Remains Pending<\/h2>\n

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

Each charge also carries a possible $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Lewis was already on release conditions in a third-degree DWI case.<\/p>\n

Those conditions required her to remain law abiding.<\/p>\n

They also required her not to drive without a valid license.<\/p>\n

The charges are only accusations at this stage.<\/p>\n

Lewis is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
