Brandon Joseph Roy is charged with first-degree sale of heroin or fentanyl.<\/p>\n

The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District under court file 04-CR-26-868.<\/p>\n

The charge stems from an April 15, 2026, traffic stop near Highway 71 in Beltrami County.<\/p>\n

Task Force Tracked Vehicle<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force obtained a GPS tracking warrant on April 10.<\/p>\n

The warrant involved a blue Hyundai tied to suspected controlled substance activity.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported that Roy was believed to be a fentanyl source for the Bemidji area.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the vehicle left Bemidji on April 15 and traveled toward the Twin Cities.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported the vehicle made stops in Minneapolis and at the Mall of America.<\/p>\n

The vehicle later returned north toward Bemidji, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Search Reportedly Found Suspected Fentanyl<\/h2>\n

Authorities coordinated a traffic stop as the vehicle approached Beltrami County.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the stop happened on Highway 71 near Horace May.<\/p>\n

Kayla Joy Pollock was identified as the driver.<\/p>\n

Roy was seated in the front passenger seat, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Two other passengers were seated in the back.<\/p>\n

A K9 was used during the stop and alerted to a narcotics odor, according to court records.<\/p>\n

A later search found a vacuum-sealed package in the locked glove compartment.<\/p>\n

The package contained about 108 grams of suspected fentanyl, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Investigators also reported seizing $2,422 in cash from Roy.<\/p>\n

The suspected fentanyl later field-tested positive for fentanyl, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Authorities also collected DNA samples from the packaging.<\/p>\n

Charge Carries Major Penalty<\/h2>\n

Roy is charged under Minnesota Statute 152.021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists the charge as a felony.<\/p>\n

The maximum sentence is 40 years in prison.<\/p>\n

The charge also carries a possible $1,000,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
