Red Lake County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Several calls and cases were reported across Red Lake County between April 17 and April 24, 2026.<\/p>\n

The reports included a missing Chromebook, minor consumption citations, a warrant arrest, loose dogs, vandalism, and loose horses.<\/p>\n

Missing Chromebook Reported In Plummer<\/h2>\n

On April 17, a person reported that their child forgot a Chromebook at Lion\u2019s Park in Plummer.<\/p>\n

The device was left there the previous evening. When the family returned, it was gone.<\/p>\n

Anyone with the Chromebook can contact the sheriff\u2019s office. It can also be returned to Red Lake County Central Schools<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Minor Consumption Stops Reported<\/h2>\n

Early on April 18, a vehicle was stopped on Highway 32 south of Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

Authorities said two people were inside the vehicle. Both were under 21 years old.<\/p>\n

The passenger, Marley William Benoit, 18, of Red Lake Falls, showed signs of alcohol use.<\/p>\n

A breath test confirmed alcohol consumption. Benoit was cited for misdemeanor minor consumption.<\/p>\n

The driver had not been drinking. The driver was warned for the moving violation.<\/p>\n

Mentor Man Arrested On Red Lake County Warrant<\/h2>\n

On April 18, the Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office reported the arrest of Scott Lee Tyler, 23, of Mentor.<\/p>\n

A Red Lake County warrant had been issued on April 15.<\/p>\n

The warrant involved felony solicitation of a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct.<\/p>\n

The criminal complaint alleges Tyler sent explicit Instagram messages to a person under age 15.<\/p>\n

The alleged messages were sent in Red Lake County in August 2025.<\/p>\n

Tyler appeared in court in Crookston on April 20.<\/p>\n

He posted $1,000 cash bail and was released with conditions.<\/p>\n

Those conditions include no contact with the victim.<\/p>\n

His next court appearance is set for May 20 in Red Lake Falls. Court information can be found through the Minnesota Judicial Branch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speeding, Dogs, Crash, And Vandalism<\/h2>\n

On April 20, Kristayanna Rose Hamilton, 22, of East Grand Forks, was cited for speeding.<\/p>\n

The citation happened on Highway 32 north of Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

That evening, Eagle Square staff reported two dogs running loose in the parking lot.<\/p>\n

One dog was caught and taken to the pound in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

The second dog could not be caught at first.<\/p>\n

An employee later reported that the small dog bit them while they took out trash.<\/p>\n

Brianna Nicole Breiland, 30, of Red Lake Falls, was cited under city ordinance.<\/p>\n

She was accused of allowing a dog to run at large.<\/p>\n

She was also told to update vaccinations and license her pets.<\/p>\n

On April 21, a vehicle struck a parked, empty vehicle at St. Joseph\u2019s Catholic Church.<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were damaged.<\/p>\n

On April 22, vandalism was reported at Riverside Park in Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

City crews cleaned up the mess. The case remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

That evening, a possible harassment or restraining order violation was reported.<\/p>\n

Late-Night Riverside Park Alcohol Case<\/h2>\n

Just before midnight on April 22, an occupied vehicle was found at Riverside Park.<\/p>\n

Authorities said three young males were inside.<\/p>\n

All were under 21 and had been drinking.<\/p>\n

Marijuana vaping devices were also found and seized.<\/p>\n

Gage David Gilbert, 18, of Middle River, was cited for misdemeanor minor consumption.<\/p>\n

Benjiman Allen Kuhn, 18, of Thief River Falls, was also cited.<\/p>\n

A juvenile male from Thief River Falls will be summonsed to juvenile court.<\/p>\n

All three were released to sober parties.<\/p>\n

Early on April 24, loose horses were reported on County Road 7 east of Highway 59.<\/p>\n

The horses were found in the owner\u2019s yard, but they were not fenced in.<\/p>\n

The owner was told to fix the issue.<\/p>\n
