Pekin, North Dakota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Pekin man has been sentenced to prison for repeated sexual contact with a child.<\/p>\n

John Roger Messner, 37, was sentenced Friday, April 17. He must serve 13 years in prison.<\/p>\n

Messner pleaded guilty in December to four felony counts. The charges were Class A felony gross sexual imposition.<\/p>\n

The case involved sexual contact with a minor under age 15.<\/p>\n

Case Reported In July<\/h2>\n

According to court documents, the case was reported to law enforcement in July.<\/p>\n

Documents say Messner engaged in sexual acts with the child several times. The acts happened during the prior month.<\/p>\n

The child victim was under 15 at the time of the offenses.<\/p>\n

Class A felony charges in North Dakota can carry up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n

Sentence And Probation Terms<\/h2>\n

Messner received a 20-year sentence. He will first serve 13 years in prison.<\/p>\n

After his release, he will spend five years on supervised probation.<\/p>\n

If he violates probation, he could return to prison. He could serve the remaining seven years.<\/p>\n

Probation conditions include sex offender registration.<\/p>\n

He also must have no contact with the child victim in this case.<\/p>\n

Messner received credit for 284 days already served.<\/p>\n
