Cass County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Richard Clay Lego<\/strong> of Federal Dam is facing three felony charges in Cass County District Court.<\/p>\n

According to the criminal complaint, the charges include illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and third-degree drug sale.<\/p>\n

Court records say the case stems from a search warrant served on April 6, 2026, at Lego\u2019s home in the Federal Dam area. Authorities say Lego was home when the warrant was carried out.<\/p>\n

What Investigators Found<\/h2>\n

The complaint says officers found about 8.64 grams of methamphetamine in Lego\u2019s bedroom. The filing says the substance tested positive for meth.<\/p>\n

Investigators also reported items tied to drug sales. Those items included ledgers, scales with white residue, plastic baggies, and unused meth pipes.<\/p>\n

One scale reportedly had the initials \u201cR.L.\u201d on it.<\/p>\n

Firearms and Ammunition Listed<\/h2>\n

The complaint says officers found 15 firearms in and near Lego\u2019s bedroom. The weapons included rifles, shotguns, and revolvers.<\/p>\n

Authorities also reported finding ammunition cans, boxed rounds, and loose ammunition in dresser drawers and a bag in the hallway.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say Lego was not allowed to possess guns or ammunition because of earlier convictions.<\/p>\n

The firearm-related counts were filed under Minnesota Statute 624.713<\/a>. The meth charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 152.023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prior Convictions Cited<\/h2>\n

The complaint lists two earlier drug convictions from Cass County. One was a fifth-degree controlled substance conviction entered in 2014.<\/p>\n

The second was a second-degree controlled substance sale conviction entered in 2021.<\/p>\n

Because of those convictions, prosecutors say Lego was barred from having firearms or ammunition.<\/p>\n

Possible Penalties<\/h2>\n

Each firearm and ammunition count carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison, a $30,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The third-degree drug sale charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says Minnesota\u2019s minimum sentencing law may apply in the case.<\/p>\n

Lego has been charged, but he has not been convicted. The charges are accusations, and the case will now move through court.<\/p>\n
