The defendant is identified as Matthew Lynn Baker, 57<\/strong>, of Parkers Prairie. Court records say Baker was charged with threats of violence<\/strong> and disorderly conduct<\/strong> following the March 31, 2026 incident.<\/p>\n

What the complaint says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, Baker went to Midwest Bank and tried to cash a $10,000 check. The document says the bank had a waiting period for non-customers.<\/p>\n

That policy allegedly upset Baker. The complaint says he began swearing inside a bank employee\u2019s office. The bank president, identified in the filing as T.S., then asked him to leave.<\/p>\n

Investigators say Baker then made threats about returning to the bank with a gun. The complaint also says he made a handgun gesture toward the bank president.<\/p>\n

After leaving the building, Baker allegedly threw a coffee mug on the ground and kept yelling outside the bank.<\/p>\n

The complaint says officers later found Baker near Willow Square apartments. He was arrested without a reported struggle.<\/p>\n

While being transported, Baker allegedly made more comments about being upset in the bank and making threats.<\/p>\n

The felony count is filed under Minnesota Statute 609.713.1. That charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The misdemeanor count is filed under Minnesota Statute 609.72.1(3). That charge carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
