The charge was filed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mncourts.gov\/\">Minnesota District Court<\/a>, Seventh Judicial District, under court file 03-CR-26-445.<\/p>\n<h2>Traffic Stop Led To Arrest<\/h2>\n<p>The complaint says a deputy was on patrol at about 8:05 p.m. in Becker County. The deputy was driving behind a vehicle on County Highway 21.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities allege the vehicle crossed the fog line while traveling down the road. The deputy then continued following the vehicle and checked its registration through dispatch.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle was later stopped near the intersection of County Highway 21 and County Highway 26. The deputy then made contact with the driver, who was identified as Jamie Lee Bevins Sr.<\/p>\n<p>Court records say the deputy already knew Bevins\u2019 driving status from prior contact. The complaint states the deputy then confirmed that Bevins\u2019 license was canceled as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What The Complaint Says<\/h2>\n<p>According to the filing, Bevins admitted he knew his license status. The complaint says he told the deputy he was working to get it back.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities then arrested Bevins and took him to the Becker County Jail. The case was later filed by the State of Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>Under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/171.24\">Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>, the listed maximum penalty is 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both. The complaint lists the offense level as a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n<h2>Case Status<\/h2>\n<p>The charge is based on allegations in a criminal complaint. It is not a conviction.
