GRAND FORKS<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a> \u2014 Grand Forks Public Schools says it is working with the Grand Forks Police Department<\/a> after rumors spread about a possible threat tied to Valley Middle School.<\/p>\n

School leaders said the concern came from a Snapchat message. District staff told families there is no evidence of a credible threat. Even so, the school added security as a safety step.<\/p>\n

District shares update with families<\/h2>\n

Principal Tad Schye told families the matter is being taken seriously. He said the case remains under active investigation with police.<\/p>\n

Schye said student and staff safety remains the top priority. He also thanked families and community members who shared concerns and information.<\/p>\n

In a later update, Schye and Associate Principal Amber Basting said there was no new verified information. They said more claims were still circulating, but those claims remained rumors.<\/p>\n

No credible threat reported<\/h2>\n

The district said investigators have not confirmed a credible threat at this time. Officials still urged the public to share verified information with police.<\/p>\n

Families with questions were asked to contact the school office. The district said it will continue working closely with law enforcement as the review continues.<\/p>\n

School officials also asked the public to be careful with unverified online claims. Rumors can spread fast and cause fear for families and students.<\/p>\n
