Devils Lake<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Fort Totten teen has been sentenced after pleading guilty to three felony sex charges tied to crimes in Devils Lake.<\/p>\n

Marquese Quincy Dubois, 19, changed his plea during a court hearing on Thursday, April 9. He pleaded guilty to three Class A felony counts of gross sexual imposition. The charges involved a victim under age 15.<\/p>\n

What Happened<\/h2>\n

According to court records, Dubois engaged in sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl on three separate occasions. The crimes happened in January 2025 in Devils Lake. At that time, Dubois was 18 years old.<\/p>\n

Du Bois had initially pleaded not guilty after the case was filed. He later changed that plea during sentencing.<\/p>\n

The court sentenced Dubois to 10 years with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Most of that sentence was suspended.<\/p>\n

He received nine years and 361 days suspended. He also received credit for four days already served in jail. That means he has no more jail time to serve right now.<\/p>\n

Dubois will now serve four years on supervised probation. If he breaks the rules of probation, he could be ordered to serve nearly the full prison term.<\/p>\n

Restrictions and Conditions<\/h2>\n

The sentence includes 100 hours of community service. Dubois also must follow strict contact limits.<\/p>\n

He cannot have contact with the victim. He also cannot have contact with other minors unless they are family members or approved by his probation officer.<\/p>\n

He is also banned from using social media platforms where he could contact minors. That includes sites such as Facebook and Snapchat.<\/p>\n

The court also ordered Dubois to pay a $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n
