Warren (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 A Warren woman is facing serious drug charges after authorities said they found a suspected DMT lab during a probation search on Monday, April 6.<\/p>\n

Authorities identified the suspect as Carla Christene Swenson, 47<\/strong>. She was arrested after investigators said they found materials tied to suspected drug production inside the property.<\/p>\n

Probation Search Led To Drug Arrest<\/h2>\n

The search involved probation officers and the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force<\/a>. During that search, agents found several jars filled with a black liquid.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, Swenson said the liquid was in one of the final stages of dimethyltryptamine<\/strong>, also known as DMT<\/strong>, extraction. Authorities also said they recovered a small amount of finished DMT product.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported finding a small amount of methamphetamine as well. That led to added drug allegations tied to the case.<\/p>\n

Charges And Safety Concerns<\/h2>\n

Swenson was arrested on suspicion of first-degree controlled substance possession and third-degree possession of methamphetamine in a park zone.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the suspected DMT manufacturing process was highly dangerous. Investigators described the liquid as extremely flammable. They said Swenson told them she planned to move the liquid into other containers later that day.<\/p>\n

DMT is listed as a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law<\/a>. That category is used for drugs considered illegal under federal law and subject to strict penalties.<\/p>\n

Regional Task Force Involved<\/h2>\n

The Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force is a violent crime enforcement team serving eight counties in northwest Minnesota. Those counties include Norman, Polk, Roseau, Red Lake, Marshall, Pennington, Kittson, and Lake of the Woods.<\/p>\n

The task force works with local, state, and federal agencies on drug crimes and violent crime cases across the region.<\/p>\n

No officers were named in this report. The investigation remains active. Formal charges and court findings will determine the final outcome of the case.<\/p>\n
