Becker County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) Tommy Giovanni Corrales<\/strong>, 18, of Dilworth, has been charged after authorities said he entered Detroit Lakes High School with a group that was not allowed inside.<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint, the case was filed in Becker County District Court<\/a>, 7th Judicial District. Corrales is charged with trespass on school property and trespass on school property with a group of three or more people.<\/p>\n

What the complaint says<\/h2>\n

Authorities said school staff reported unknown people inside the building on May 12, 2025. The report came shortly after 11:20 a.m.<\/p>\n

The complaint says five people went into Detroit Lakes High School. A sixth person stayed with a white Chevrolet Cruze outside. The vehicle reportedly had a temporary dealer plate.<\/p>\n

Security video showed the group entered the school around 11:06 a.m. The complaint says they did not check in as visitors. Staff later stopped them in the classroom wing.<\/p>\n

School staff asked where they were going. The group reportedly said they were heading to class. But they could not name a teacher. The complaint says they then ran out of the school.<\/p>\n

How investigators identified the suspect<\/h2>\n

After reviewing video, authorities shared images with nearby schools and police agencies. On May 15, 2025, a principal from Moorhead High School and Career Academy identified Corrales, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The complaint says three other people were also identified. This story focuses on Corrales because he is named in the court filing provided.<\/p>\n

Charges and possible penalties<\/h2>\n

Corrales faces one gross misdemeanor count under Minnesota Statute 609.605<\/a>. That count carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

He also faces one misdemeanor count of trespass on school property. That count carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

Detroit Lakes High School is part of the Detroit Lakes Public Schools<\/a> system. Court records show the alleged incident happened in Becker County.<\/p>\n

All charges are allegations. Corrales is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
