Detroit Lakes, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) A Detroit Lakes man faces four charges after an April 2 arrest. The charges include one felony and three gross misdemeanors, according to a complaint filed in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Caleb Nicholas Fellini<\/strong> is charged with obstructing legal process and fourth-degree assault of a peace officer. The felony count alleges his actions created a risk of death or substantial bodily harm.<\/p>\n

What the Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, officers were trying to serve Fellini with a harassment restraining order. Court records say they were near his home in Detroit Lakes when they saw him arrive in a vehicle.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Fellini appeared angry and was yelling inside the vehicle. Investigators say he stepped out and seemed ready to run. Officers then tried to make contact.<\/p>\n

According to the filing, Fellini did not follow commands and was told he was under arrest. Prosecutors allege he then ran toward his home. The complaint says he grabbed an officer during the struggle and tore off a radio microphone.<\/p>\n

The filing also says an officer felt Fellini\u2019s hand near the officer\u2019s gun belt. A later body camera review, according to the complaint, showed Fellini reaching near that belt area.<\/p>\n

Officers then took Fellini into custody, the complaint says. During the ride to jail, prosecutors allege he became violent in the squad car. The complaint says he hit his head on the partition and started bleeding.<\/p>\n

Court records also say Fellini made threats during transport. The complaint further states officers knew he did not have a valid driver\u2019s license before the encounter.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

The case includes one felony obstruction charge under Minnesota Statute 609.50<\/a>. It also includes two gross misdemeanor obstruction counts and one gross misdemeanor assault count under Minnesota Statute 609.2231<\/a>.<\/p>\n
