Court records name the defendant as Maci Jo Lehman<\/strong>, 28, of Detroit Lakes. She is charged in Minnesota District Court<\/a> with one felony count of theft. The charge was filed in Becker County.<\/p>\n

What the Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, the alleged thefts happened between Dec. 3, 2025, and Jan. 28, 2026. Prosecutors said the reported losses totaled $1,299.71<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the amount came from 21 separate theft incidents<\/strong>. The state is treating those incidents as one case. Prosecutors said the events happened within a six-month period.<\/p>\n

The alleged thefts involved the Walmart<\/a> in Becker County. Store records reviewed after a Jan. 28 incident led to the larger case, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Potential Penalty<\/h2>\n

The charge is filed under Minnesota Statute 609.52<\/a>. A felony conviction on this charge can carry up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint contains allegations. It is not a conviction. Lehman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

The complaint states that investigators received a shoplifting packet tied to a Jan. 28, 2026, incident. After that, store staff reviewed earlier cases and reported a pattern of thefts going back to early December.<\/p>\n
