Beltrami County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) A Beltrami County woman is facing criminal charges after a rollover crash in the county last fall, according to a complaint filed in Minnesota District Court.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed In Court<\/h2>\n

Shoshona Leigh Olson<\/strong>, 30, of Deer River, is charged with second-degree DWI and a second drug-related DWI count. The case was filed in Beltrami County District Court under file number 04-CR-25-9.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, the crash happened on October 29, 2024, at about 11:15 a.m. The crash was reported near Roosevelt Road SE and Tyler Avenue SE in Beltrami County.<\/p>\n

Court records say Olson was the only person inside the vehicle. The vehicle was found upside down with major damage. The engine was still running when responders arrived.<\/p>\n

What The Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

A witness told authorities the vehicle crossed the road and crashed. Olson was removed from the vehicle and taken for medical care.<\/p>\n

The complaint says medical staff later told investigators that Olson admitted using methamphetamine the day before. The complaint also says suspected drug paraphernalia was found in and around the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Investigators later obtained a search warrant for a blood or urine sample, the complaint states. A confirmatory test reportedly found methamphetamine in Olson\u2019s blood.<\/p>\n

Prior DWI Convictions Listed<\/h2>\n

The complaint also lists two prior non-felony DWI convictions within the last 10 years. Both convictions were entered on June 26, 2023. One case was tied to an offense on November 1, 2022. The other was tied to an offense on May 1, 2023.<\/p>\n

Because of those prior convictions, prosecutors filed the lead charge as a gross misdemeanor. Court documents say the top count carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

Case Status<\/h2>\n

At this stage, the charges are only allegations. Olson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
