Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a><\/strong> A Bemidji man is facing one felony and two misdemeanor charges after prosecutors said he helped Marie Hillman avoid arrest for months.<\/p>\n

According to a complaint filed in Minnesota District Court<\/a>, Keith Bryan Olson<\/strong>, 56, was charged with aiding an offender to avoid arrest, obstructing legal process, and falsely reporting a crime.<\/p>\n

What The Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

Court records say Olson filed a missing person report for Marie Hillman in July 2025. Investigators later learned he had continued seeing and speaking with her after that report.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Hillman had an active warrant after she failed to appear in a felony drug case in Beltrami County. Prosecutors said Olson knew about that warrant and still helped her stay out of sight.<\/p>\n

Investigators said Olson admitted Hillman told him she planned to \u201clie low.\u201d He also said he agreed to help her. The complaint states this support lasted about nine months.<\/p>\n

Key Details In The Case<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Olson met with investigators on March 25, 2026, in Bemidji. During that interview, officials said he gave conflicting statements about Hillman and about people tied to the case.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors also allege Olson provided false information during the investigation. The complaint says he knew Hillman had a warrant because he had posted bail earlier and was contacted after she missed court.<\/p>\n

Investigators later arrested Olson and took him to the Beltrami County Jail. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison, a $5,000 fine, or both. Each misdemeanor charge carries up to 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations. Olson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case was filed in Beltrami County under court file 04-CR-26-734.<\/p>\n
