Charge Filed in Norman County<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, Katelin Larae Houska, 22, is charged with a school bus stop signal violation. The charge is tied to an incident reported on February 4, 2026. The case was filed in Minnesota District Court in Norman County. The complaint lists the charge as a misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

Under Minnesota Statute 169.444<\/a>, drivers must stop when a school bus displays its stop arm and red flashing lights. The complaint says the required stop distance is at least 20 feet. The listed maximum penalty is 90 days in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. The complaint also notes a minimum fine of $500.<\/p>\n

What the Complaint Says Happened<\/h2>\n

The complaint says the reported violation happened near Anderson Funeral Home in Twin Valley. A witness reported that a black Chevrolet Cruze was traveling east on Main Street. The witness said the car passed the bus while children were unloading. The report states the stop arm was extended at the time.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the witness could only provide part of the license plate at first. The next day, authorities located a black four-door Chevrolet Cruze in Twin Valley. Court records say the vehicle had a matching plate pattern. The complaint also states that Houska admitted she was driving that day. It says she recalled passing the bus while the stop arm and lights were active.<\/p>\n
