Beltrami County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) A Bemidji man is facing a gross misdemeanor charge after a traffic stop in Beltrami County, according to a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota District Court.<\/p>\n

The defendant is identified as Jesse Jay Hockenson, 48<\/strong>, of Bemidji. Court records say he was charged with driving after cancellation that was listed as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

What The Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the stop happened at about 9:45 p.m. on March 27, 2026. The vehicle was stopped near Coyote Road and Spencer Road in Beltrami County.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the vehicle was stopped because the driver\u2019s license status showed a revoked license. The driver was identified as Hockenson.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Hockenson told authorities his license had been canceled because of prior DWI cases. Court documents later said his driving status was canceled as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

That charge falls under Minnesota law<\/a>. The complaint lists the offense under Minnesota Statute 171.24.5.<\/p>\n

Possible Penalty<\/h2>\n

The charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor. The maximum penalty listed in the complaint is 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
